Appointed by the Texas Department of Public Safety as
the Official Museum of the Texas Rangers (1968)

Appointed the Official Hall of Fame
of the Texas Rangers by the
Texas Ranger Commemorative Commission (1973)

Appointed by the Texas Legislature as
the Official Repository, Library and Archives (1997)

 Sponsored since 1968 by the City of Waco, Texas 

Mission:

(1) To disseminate knowledge and inspire appreciation of the Texas Rangers,
a legendary symbol of Texas and the American West;

(2) To serve as the principal repository for artifacts and archives
relating to the Texas Rangers.

Goals:

To constantly improve the Museum, Hall of Fame, and Research Center and meet or exceed professional museum standards;

To collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret materials and artifacts relating to the history of the Texas Rangers;

To encourage study and research into the Texas Rangers by maintaining a library, archives and research facilities at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum;

To honor distinguished Texas Rangers, and Texas Rangers who have given their lives in the service of the people of Texas;

To promote, among present and future generations, a pride and interest in the Texas Rangers and the heritage of the American West.
