UNITED STATES MARSHALS SWEARS IN THE TEXAS RANGERS
AS SPECIAL DEPUTY UNITED STATES MARSHALS

Austin - America's two most historic Law Enforcement Agencies are uniting in their continued effort to better serve the public. Texas Rangers will be sworn in as Special Deputy United States Marshals.

The Texas Rangers and the United States Marshals Service have a long history of cooperation leading to numerous high profile and dramatic arrests. The Texas Rangers are currently members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, which is led by the United States Marshals Service.

The Special Deputizing of Texas Rangers is not purely a ceremonial act; it will extend their jurisdiction and increase their ability in bringing fugitives to justice.
