Badland Texas Ranger Reenactors Join with
Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum

The
Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, the official historical center
of the Texas Rangers law enforcement agency, is pleased to announce
an affiliation with the Badland Texas Rangers reenactors.
The Badland Rangers
will receive sanction and become the primary reenactment group in
Texas representing the museum. The TRHFM will provide historical resources
and expertise to enhance the presentations of the Badland Rangers.
Operating out of Sabinal, Texas, the Badland Rangers are a nonprofit
living history organization. They represents the Texas Rangers, Frontier
Battalion, Company "D", for the period of 1874 to 1901.
"We have
had a very positive informal relationship with the Badland Rangers
for some time," said Byron Johnson, Director of the Texas Ranger
Hall of Fame. "The museum and the Badland Rangers believe that
there are many mutually beneficial educational projects we could accomplish
together.
Jim Ryan, Captain
of the reenactor group, echoed the sentiments, "It is with pleasure
to report that all members voted "yes" to the affiliation
with the museum."
Planning will
soon begin on a number of programs including a Junior Ranger summer
camp.
