Woodford “Buddy” Hendricks
1927 - 2005

Woodford “Buddy” Hendricks  was born May 3, 1927 in San Saba, Texas. He joined the Department of Public Safety in January of 1950 as a patrolman, but left on November 24 of that same year for military service.

After serving his country, he rejoined the Highway Patrol in Austin, on September 9, 1952. In Sept 1953, he was promoted to DPS Narcotics Agent, moving from Austin to Elgin, Texas. He received a promotion again in September of 1955 to Supervising Agent in that division.

On January 1, 1958, he promoted to Texas Ranger, moving to Jacksboro. By June 1960, Ranger Hendricks joined Company "F" and moved to Waco. Hendricks resigned from the Rangers on August 31, 1962.

Woodford “Buddy” Hendricks passed away on December 8, 2005 in Austin and is buried in the Elgin Cemetery, Elgin Texas.
