Texas Ranger 1961 - 1966

The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum is sad to report the death of Municipal Judge Perry E. Dickerson of Mont Belvieu, Chambers County, Texas, who served as a Texas Ranger from 1961 to 1966.

Dickerson passed away on July 13, 2006 at a Houston hospital. Mr. Dickerson was a member of the First Christian Church of Baytown, Texas, a member of the Anahuac Masonic Lodge, Past President of the Baytown Shrine Club and a member of the Arabian Shrine Temple of Houston, Texas.

Dickerson served as a Highway Patrolman first in the Baytown area in 1956, moving to Houston in 1957 and Huntsville in 1958. In November of 1961 Dickerson was promoted to Sergeant and relocated to Waco where he continued to serve in the Highway Patrol until his appointment as a Texas Ranger on September 1, 1962.

As a Ranger, he was a member of Company F, at Waco, under the command of Captain Clint Peoples.

Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown, Texas.
